RTT (Roof Top Tent)

The universal industry abbreviation for Roof Top Tent.
Context: You will see this used in forums, shipping manifests, and product model names (e.g., "Gen-3 Aluminum RTT").

Overlanding

Vehicle-based adventure travel where the journey is the primary goal. Unlike static camping, overlanding involves long-distance travel to remote locations, requiring self-reliant gear like RTTs and 12V fridges.

Materials & Fabrics (The Skin)

ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene)

A thermoplastic polymer used for hard-shell tent covers. It is lightweight and impact-resistant.
💡 Business Insight: Cheaper to mold than fiberglass, making it ideal for entry-level "Family Series" tents.

ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate)

A premium high-grade plastic often layered over ABS.
☀️ Why it matters: ASA has superior UV resistance. It prevents the shell from yellowing or cracking under the sun, essential for the Australian/US markets.

Blackout Coating (LST)

Also known as Light Suppression Technology. A special black inner coating on the fabric that blocks sunlight.
✅ Selling Point: Keeps the interior dark and cool, allowing customers to sleep past sunrise.

Canvas (Poly-Cotton)

A blend of polyester and cotton (Standard: 280g/320g). It combines the breathability of cotton with the durability of polyester. Quieter in the wind than synthetic nylon.

Ripstop

A weaving technique where thicker reinforcement threads are interwoven in a crosshatch pattern. This stops small tears from spreading.

Dynamic Load Rating

The maximum weight a vehicle's roof can safely support while moving.
⚠️ Critical for EV Market: Many electric vehicles (Tesla, BYD) have lower limits (approx 75kg). Your tent must be lighter than this.

Honeycomb Aluminum

A sandwich panel structure used in our floors. It consists of an aluminum core bonded between two sheets.

T-Slot Channel

An accessory rail built into the tent frame. It allows customers to mount awnings, shovels, or lights using standard T-bolts without drilling holes.

Weatherproofing Specs

Hydrostatic Head (PU Rating)

A lab measure of waterproofness.
PU 3000mm: Means the fabric withstands a 3,000mm column of water. Our factory standard for heavy rain.

Seam Tape

Thermoplastic tape applied under heat to stitch lines to prevent water leaking through needle holes.

The Harmonized System Code for customs.

DDP (Delivered Duty Paid)

LCL vs. FCL

FCL (Full Container Load): You rent the whole container (20ft/40ft). Much safer and cheaper per unit.
